Race Recap: Davenport Speedway (5/13)

This past weekend we ran our #22 machine with the Dirt Crown Summer Series at Davenport Speedway and were able to come home with a 6th place finish!

We started the 35-lap feature event in P.19 after a terrible heat race and racing through the B-Main. The track was very rough and very technical, which made everyone’s job that much harder. During the big show the track was pretty slick, but if you could find a way to run the cushion that was the fastest way around.

All night the car was brutal to handle and we missed by a good bit on our setup. Even still, thanks to some cautions, a few cars retiring early and doing whatever we could to move forward in the field, we gained 13 spots and crossed under the checkered flag in 6th. After a our first win in the stock car, a really challenging night of racing was just what we needed to stay motivated and keep working to get faster each week.

We have another big weekend coming up this weekend with a double-header: Friday night we are at 300 Raceway in Farley with the Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series and then Saturday at the bad-fast half mile of West Liberty (the home of our first stock car win)!

- Sincerely, the TAR Family
