2022: In the Rearview

2022 is officially in the books and we are moving full speed ahead into ‘23. It was another eventful year in the racing world so I’d like to take a moment to wrap it up quickly here.

While it wasn’t exactly a packed racing schedule this past year, we did manage to participate in some big events and I managed to check a few boxes on my personal bucket list.

The first item on the 2022 agenda was prelim night at Chili Bowl Nationals.

The CB Nationals are a big deal to everyone in racing, but it really does hold a special place for me. Especially in the world of dirt, the Chili Bowl brings some of the finest competition in the United States and the entire world.

The biggest, baddest names out there count on the Chili Bowl to prove their worth every single year. We showed up. We qualified. Then we booked it down to Daytona.

Another one of those bucket list items was test day at Daytona International Speedway. I was able to secure the test with Andy Hillenburg from Fast Track Racing. The test was super useful as it sealed the deal on my ARCA Menards Series license, of which I was fully approved to run all size courses.

Before we knew it were back in Tusla for the Chili Bowl Nationals Alphabet Soup (it was a hectic week to say the least). For those who don’t know, Saturday is the big show at the Chili Bowl and I’m still so grateful for everyone who helped me get to that point. No matter where I end up racing, midgets will always mean something special to me.

After getting fully ARCA-approved at the Daytona practice day I was also able to make my first series start in my home state at Iowa Speedway. Again, I am very grateful for all the people who have supported my racing up to this point. Without the support of my family, friends and community the Iowa start would simply not be possible.

And as a motorsports cherry on top of it all, we got to do some classic dirt stock car racing.

Things started off with a surprise run with the Jones County Fair Outlaw Stock Cars and continued with the Cedar County Raceway Special Outlaw Stock Cars.

Overall the year was a bit more slim than we had initially hoped in regards to volume but the races we did run were major targets on our list. I’m really proud of what we put together throughout 2022 and even more excited about what is coming this year.

Stay tuned for news on the 2023 season to come!

- Sincerely, the TAR Family
